Creating fictions and fictional worlds has always been a critical
part of Eames Demetrios' creative output, even before he was thrown
out of the Harvard film department for a series
of fictional tales centered around a neighborhood in San Francisco.
He has made a number of feature length fiction films, most notably The
Giving, a black and white 35mm film about homelessness in LA
that won a gold medal at the Houston Film Festival. He has also
written a book (published in 2001) called Wartime
California, which is just one expression of a fictional universe
known as Parallel California.
Currently, he is developing www.kymaerica.com as
an online expression of an expanded fictional world set loosely
in America (check it out).
